| Want a closeup? - click on image to enlarge it | A dolphin-braced, European Jumbo instrument in AAA mahogany and AAA Sitka spruce. The seductive good looks of the beautifully figured American Mahogany back and sides and contrasting Sitka top give no indication to the great energy and vibrance of its voice... it is incredibly full with good depth and holds together coherently even when strummed quite hard. Backing off from plectrum use and the trademark Lowden clarity and separation kick in: There’s great articulation for the fingerstyle player here too and it responds sweetly to a variety of right hand attack - including soft, introspective picking which it illuminates with a great mixture of warm woodiness and detailed overtones. Older O12s sound great once they’re played in - and with the advantage of hand-voiced top bracing, this one will be even better than that. Dimensions - Across body (lower bout)
